<\/p>\nRECLA brought together in Salta, Argentina the community that is building the future of continuing education<\/b><\/p>\n
For three days, Salta became a meeting point for those who believe that continuing education has an increasingly important role in the development of people, organizations and society.<\/p>\n
From May 27 to 29, the XIV RECLA 2026 Regional Meeting brought together 203 participants from 16 countries and 59 institutions on the campus of the Catholic University of Salta (UCASAL), the host institution of this edition.<\/p>\n
We experienced three wonderful days and a great opportunity to exchange experiences, compare perspectives, and reflect on some of the fundamental issues for continuing education. Between conferences, panels, workshops, university experiences, and networking opportunities, the conversation revolved around topics that are currently on the agenda of higher education institutions: artificial intelligence, employability, micro-credentials, new skills, collaboration with the productive sector, and lifelong learning.<\/p>\n
One of the recurring themes throughout the meeting was the need to strengthen the relationship between education and employment. The rapid transformation of work environments, driven by digitalization, artificial intelligence, and the constant emergence of new skills, raises increasingly relevant questions for universities and their continuing education departments.<\/p>\n

Micro-credentials and digital credentials also played an important role, understood not only as new forms of certification, but as tools that allow for building more flexible, verifiable learning pathways connected to the needs of individuals and organizations.<\/p>\n
Another key theme on the agenda was lifelong learning. The sessions dedicated to the silver generation and the training of older adults highlighted a reality shared by many countries in the region: the need to expand learning opportunities for a population that lives longer, remains active for longer, and continues to seek opportunities for personal and professional development.<\/p>\n
One of the most valued aspects of the event was the parallel sessions, where institutions shared experiences developed through practical application. Through workshops, narratives, and real-world case studies, attendees learned about initiatives related to employability, micro-credentials, educational innovation, teacher training, digital transformation, and new skills for the workplace. These sessions provided an opportunity to engage with diverse realities, exchange knowledge, and discover how different universities are addressing similar challenges within their own contexts.<\/p>\n
In addition to academic activities, the meeting allowed for strengthening ties between institutions, generating new alliances, and sharing experiences among professionals facing similar challenges from different contexts.<\/p>\n
From RECLA we thank each of the people and institutions that were part of this edition: speakers, panelists, workshop leaders, participants, sponsors and partners who contributed their experiences and knowledge to the development of the meeting.<\/p>\n
Special thanks to the Catholic University of Salta (UCASAL), its directors and its entire team, for their hospitality, commitment and dedication as the host institution of the XIV RECLA Regional Meeting 2026.<\/p>\n
We leave Salta with new learnings, strengthened relationships, and the satisfaction of having shared three days of work with a learning community that continues to drive the development of continuing education in the region.<\/p>\n
The next meeting will be from November 2nd to 4th, 2026 in Mexico City, host of the XXXI RECLA International Meeting.<\/p>\n
