Guide for the design and implementation of microcredentials in continuing education

We present 'Guide 10: Microcredentials', a document developed by RECLA to guide institutions in adopting more flexible, modular training models aligned with new learning dynamics.

Microcredentials allow for the verifiable and cumulative certification of specific skills, strengthening employability and responding quickly to the demands of the environment.<

A. Definition and characteristics

This section establishes what a microcredential is and its key elements: verifiable digital certification, competency-based approach, short duration, modularity and flexibility.

B. Minimum elements

Define the essential components for its design and implementation, such as learning objectives, competencies, evaluation, certification, quality, articulation and job relevance.

C. Institutional Implementation

It presents recommendations for its adoption, including governance, regulatory frameworks, quality assurance and articulation with the environment and the labor market.
