  • This event will bring together specialists, rectors and human capital directors from November 2nd to 4th at the headquarters of Tecnológico de Monterrey, Universidad Anáhuac México and Universidad Iberoamericana Ciudad de México.
  • MEXICO CITY, October 29, 2026. With the aim of outlining the strategic guidelines for higher education in the face of technological transformation and new labor market demands, the Latin American and European Continuing Education Network (RECLA), in collaboration with Tecnológico de Monterrey, Anáhuac University, and Ibero-American University, will hold the 31st International Meeting: “The Evolution of Universities Towards Lifelong Learning in the Age of AI.” The summit will bring together more than one hundred executives, pedagogical specialists, and talent leaders from Latin America and Europe in the Mexican capital.

During three days of collaborative work, participants will discuss response models to the impact of autonomous systems on the workforce, university governance, the adoption of modular microcredentials and the personalization of learning through data analytics, promoting a vision of continuous training that constantly accompanies professionals.

“Continuous learning is not a stage that ends: it is a constant that defines our future. Faced with technological disruption, our commitment is to break with rigid paradigms and support people in enhancing their human capabilities, remaining relevant, curious, and ready to make an impact at any point in their lives,” said Constanza Diedrich, president of RECLA.

The meeting will be structured over three consecutive days, each hosted by one of the host universities:

Monday, November 2 (Tecnológico de Monterrey, Santa Fe Campus): Formal opening focused on the convergence of technology, industry, and employability. Highlights include the collaborative panel “Three Cases, One Conversation” with the co-host institutions, the analysis of the multi-sectoral impact of AI presented by Rafael Sánchez, and the business networking panel comprised of executives from Boston Scientific, Hubbell, and Index Nuevo León.

Tuesday, November 3 (Anáhuac University of Mexico): Focus on organizational transformation and governance. The debate will open with the panel “Is the university prepared to accompany us throughout our lives?”, complemented by presentations from Jorge Alberto Hidalgo Toledo and José Luis Alonso on leadership and human connection in automated environments. The afternoon will feature parallel sessions showcasing success stories in analytics, sustainability, educational management, and microcredentials.

Wednesday, November 4 (Ibero-American University of Mexico City): A day dedicated to equity and practical implementation. It will begin with a presentation by Rosa Wolpert on learning as a universal right, followed by the official RECLA 2026 Awardsceremony , which recognizes innovation and social impact in the region. Presentations by Luis Medina Gual and Carolina González Tabares will frame a series of practical workshops on educational marketing, instructional design, and employability before the official closing ceremony.

Beyond academic rigor, the 2026 edition of the RECLA Meeting will prioritize inter-institutional linkage spaces structured to promote bilateral agreements, joint research projects and teaching and professional mobility networks between Latin America and Europe.
